Overview

LeTourneau University is nondenominational Christian university. The university was founded by R.G. LeTourneau (a rather interesting person to say the least) in the 1940s, on the site of a vacated Army Hospital. It began as the LeTourneau Technical Institute, with the goal of providing education for the returning WWII GIs. The university has small (current) total student population of 2,796 students, and though it is based in Longview, Texas, 1,203 of those students actually attend the university online, through the Global Campus, which provides educational opportunities for traditional and non-traditional students alike.
