Overview

Indiana University (IU), a multi-campus, public university system founded in 1820, enrolls 110,000 students across its campuses. Admissions and Transfer Info

Indiana University’s admission prerequisites and application requirements vary by program.
Applicants apply to the IU campus that offers their desired program.

Students applying for undergraduate admission must submit high school transcripts, an essay and SAT/ACT scores. Students also must submit TOEFL scores, if applicable.

Undergraduate applicants can submit two letters of recommendation.

Requirements for transfer students vary based on residency – Indiana residents must have at least a 2.3 GPA and non-residents must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Transfer applicants with 26 transferable credits must submit college transcripts, and those with fewer than 26 transferable credits must submit college and high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores. However, the test score requirement may be waived for applicants 21 or older or those who have been out of high school more than three years.

Students applying for graduate admissions must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution and have earned at least a 3.0 GPA in their undergraduate major.

Applicants seeking a second bachelor’s degree should contact the school directly; some do not accept second degree candidates.
