Champlain College is a private, not-for-profit, college established in 1878. The college has more than 2,000 students attending full-time. The school offers numerous undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Alongside its home base in Vermont, the college also has campuses in Montreal, Canada and Dublin, Ireland.

Champlain College offers online baccalaureate, master and certificate programs. Online bachelor’s degree options include accounting, computer forensics and healthcare administration. Green Mountain College offers two bachelor's degrees online: a bachelor of science in business administration, and a bachelor of arts in interdisciplinary studies. Of the 120 credits required to graduate, at least 30 must be completed at GMU. To enroll, applicants must have earned at least 12 credits at a higher education institution with an overall GPA of 2.5 or better. GMU also offers four master's degrees online, which require an annual residency lasting three to four days at the GMU campus in Poultney, Vermont.

Each three-credit course at GMU lasts six weeks. Students enroll in one course at a time, and can complete up to eight courses in an academic year. The tuition cost per credit for courses in GMU's online degree completion program and graduate program is the same regardless of where students reside. The online per-credit rate is significantly lower than the rate for on-campus classes, making it one of the most affordable online colleges in Vermont.

Northern Vermont University View School Profile Johnson, VT Northern Vermont University is regionally accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Northern Vermont University is one of the newest online schools in Vermont, with physical campuses located in Johnson and Lyndonville. NVU offers five fully online bachelor’s degrees: a BS in wellness and alternative medicine; a BA in psychology; a BA in either professional studies or interdisciplinary studies, each with a self-designed program; and a BA in business with a concentration in either accounting or management. Students can also complete a BS in early childhood education 90% online, but the program requires in-person student teaching experience and some on-campus meetings and advising sessions.

Students enrolled in NVU's fully online programs pay the same in-state tuition rate per credit regardless of whether they reside in Vermont or elsewhere. Applicants must submit an official transcript from high school, or from a college if they have completed 18 credits or more, showing they have a GPA of 2.0 or better.
