Overview

The University of Florida (UF), a public, sea-grant, land-grant and space-grant research university founded in 1853, officially launched its distance learning program, UF Online in 2014. The university boasts an enrollment of more than 54,000, including 2,240 online students. A member of the State University System of Florida, UF is among the largest universities in the state by student population. Its Distance Learning programs are designed for those who need an alternative to traditional on-campus courses but expect the same rigorous academic standards and the same prestigious degree. Through synchronous and asynchronous elements, its faculty foster a collaborative environment that transforms potential into real results.

STUDENT TESTIMONIAL
I chose the online degree program through the University of Florida because it is a top-tier program, ... and because I am currently in the process of moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa with my fiance. Among other reasons, I would have to say the biggest reason for selecting an online degree rather than a traditional degree is because of the amount of freedom I am given compared to a regular degree program. I am able to move cross-country, get a full-time or part-time job to help cover costs, work on my own time and schedule, and be able to get married at the end of December, which would traditionally mean I would have to take an in-person exam, which would not work at all.

STUDENT TESTIMONIAL
One positive experience since I started my degree program online has been the feeling of accomplishment. To be able to say that I am in college at the University of Florida makes me proud. Another positive aspect is that I feel more creative online. I can still reach out to my peers to collaborate, yet, I do not have the distractions that many on-campus students face today. This allows me to stay focused and driven in my studies.
