With more than 40 colleges and universities, nearly all of which offer online course options, it is no wonder New Mexico stands out for its quality and convenience in academics. Online colleges in New Mexico provide some of the country’s leading opportunities to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees. Moreover, these programs are extremely convenient for those who do not live near a major city: the state is home to more than two million people dispersed over a large geographic area, which can create challenges for working adults and students with families trying to attend on-campus classes.
New Mexico residents can enjoy in-state tuition at public colleges and universities and graduate knowing their degree comes from an institution employers recognize and respect. Leading employers in the Land of Enchantment include the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Department of Energy. It is also the nation’s leading producer of crude oil and natural gas.
New Mexico offers both public and private institutions for study. The regional accrediting body for these schools is the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau reports that barely more than one in four (27%) New Mexico residents hold a bachelor’s degree. This means degree holders can expect to generate employers’ interest and that job opportunities for graduates should be plentiful.
Four reasons to find an online college in your state:
- Guaranteed in-state tuition saves you money
- Be a part of a university or college you know and love
- Get a degree from a school employers know and trust
- Be close enough to easily visit when desired
