Overview
Florida State University (FSU), a public, sea-grant and space-grant university founded in 1851, offers more than 360 programs of study through 16 colleges and more than 110 facilities, centers, labs and institutes. A member of the State University System of Florida, FSU also is home to the state’s only National Laboratory — the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. The university also boasts a host of nationally ranked programs, including those in law, engineering, business, medicine and social work, among others. The university’s world-renowned faculty provide students with a student-centered education through small class sizes and mentoring opportunities.
FSU’s Office of Distance Learning offers a number of online advanced-standing undergraduate programs, several graduate degree programs as well as coursework toward a professional certification or specialization. Most of FSU’s online courses feature an asynchronous format, allowing students to complete coursework on their schedule; however, some do require synchronous participation or face-to-face elements.

Those applying for undergraduate admission must submit official high school and college/university transcripts, ACT or SAT scores and a residency form. Those who have attempted 90 or more hours of college credit also must submit a personal statement.
Graduate applicants must submit an official transcript from each college or university attended, nationally standardized graduate admission test scores and a residency form, if applicable.
