Overview
Founded in 1918, Ball State University is a public university composed of eight academic colleges. Ball State offers award-winning programs and has about 190 undergraduate majors and more than 140 master's, doctoral, certificate and specialist degree programs. Admissions and Transfer Info
Ball State University's admission prerequisites and application requirements vary by program.
The university accepts applications year-round and has four start dates – fall, spring and two in the summer.
Freshman applicants must submit ACT or SAT scores. Some programs also require an essay, design portfolio or performance audition.
Applicants who are 23 or older must have graduated from an accredited high school or earned an equivalency diploma.
Those 22 or younger must submit high school transcripts or GED/TASC scores.
Transfer students must submit academic records from all colleges or universities they've attended. They also must be in good academic standing and have earned at least a 2.0 GPA on all transferable course work.
Bachelor's degree students must earn 30 of their last 40 credits from Ball State.
International applicants also must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.
Graduate program applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
Applicants must submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities they've attended.
