St. John's University includes five undergraduate schools and six graduate schools. The school has a variety of graduate programs.
The university has over 15,000 undergraduate students and over 5,000 graduate students, and has a 17-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio.
St. John's University also has over 150 academic, recreational, and professional student organizations.
Due to its location in New York City, all freshman are required to complete a course named Discover New York. The course provides students opportunities to evaluate New York via an array of academic disciplines.
St. John's University provides three semester-long study abroad programs taking place in Europe with stints in Paris, Rome, and Salamanca, Spain.
