WPI provides over 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the fields of engineering, science, management, technology, the humanities and arts, and the social sciences. It is best known for its engineering disciplines. The university also provides individually designed majors.
WPI's research is internationally recognized in the fields of fuel cells, biotechnology, information security, and nanotechnology.
Project activity is an integral part of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute experience. Every student completes projects in addition to coursework. Most projects are worked on by teams. WPI student also must complete a Humanities and Arts requirement.
Via the Global Perspective Program, students have opportunities to work on professional-level projects oversees. There are 25 WPI project centers located throughout North America, Central America, Australia, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
