WorldCat® is the world’s most comprehensive database of information about library collections.
Through WorldCat, you can find materials in thousands of libraries — in your neighborhood or around the world. No other site contains information about so many library collections in one place. Learn more about WorldCat.
Use WorldCat to find libraries that provide access to learning tools that will help you prepare for your college search and beyond.
How does WorldCat work?
- Access the WorldCat database of libraries.
- Enter your location under Find a library near you to see a list of libraries near you that may have the item you need.
- When you see a familiar library, you can click to view library information (address, phone number, website, hours, etc.), view a map of the library’s location, and often connect to the library’s catalog to find out if the item you need is available.
In some cases, you may be able to link to what you need online. To use physical items (think books), you will need to visit the library.
A tip for college research and beyond
Your use of WorldCat to find things in libraries doesn’t have to stop with your college search and admission. Use WorldCat to find materials in libraries during college and after graduation by searching the world’s biggest library database at https://worldcat.org.
