Founded in 1857, Upper Iowa University (UIU), a private institution of higher education, has over 6,000 students with more than 900 students at its main residential campus in Fayette, Iowa, a rural town located near the Volga River.
UIU offers many programs, including distance education programs. Upper Iowa University has 15 centers in the United States. The university also has independent study programs and centers in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
