Each year, TheBestSchools.org celebrates the legendary teacher Jaime Escalante and his principal champion, Henry Gradillas, by awarding $28,000 in total prizes to three educators who exemplify the non-nonsense, uncompromising academics, and do-more-with-less standards of Escalante and Gradillas. For 2017, we recognize school administrators, those leaders like Gradillas who make it possible for teachers to change students’ lives.
