We are pleased to announce that John Wilson will be launching a new endeavor in 2017 at TheBestSchools.org site, Education & Culture. Beginning in 1995, John served as editor of the prestigious Books & Culture at Christianity Today. Education & Culture will continue to build upon John's legacy of reviews, essays, interviews, and commentary covering what he notes is a "deliciously wide range of subjects, just as in B&C."
Baylor professor Alan Jacobs, a regular contributor to Books & Culture, says this of John:
For twenty-one years, Books & Culture has been one of the most consistently interesting magazines in the English-speaking world. I have often been surprised at the number and range of people who agree with me on that. Alex Star, a former editor of the New York Times Magazine and now an editor at Farrar, Straus & Giroux, once told me that he read every issue in full. Cullen Murphy, former editor of The Atlantic, told me that John Wilson is the best editor in the business.
Of the new Education & Culture, John says, "It's for people who are intellectually curious, who are interested in all kinds of things, who are not looking for writing that's coming from the same point of view…people who like to be exposed to multiple viewpoints."
John's keen insights on trends within both secular and Christian culture and society have enlightened thousands, appearing in such publications The New York Times, The Boston Globe, First Things, and National Review. With such notable successes, we're excited for the future wisdom and clarity John will bring to Education & Culture.
