John Stonestreet is considered by many evangelical Christians to be an expert on the topic of developing a Biblical worldview. He is a popular speaker, writer, and cultural commentator. In addition to the thousands of students that John has reached through his work with Summit Ministries, he reaches an estimated 8 million people each week through radio.
Stonestreet is a prominent force in American education today and is passionate about helping students develop a strong Christian worldview. To support this passion, he has served with Summit Ministries since 1999. Summit is an educational Christian ministry that trains Christians in apologetics, worldview analysis, and social engagement, in the hopes that today’s youth can successfully defend their faith against popular culture. As part of Summit Ministries, John has served in various capacities, including executive director, in an effort to support the ministry’s mission of teaching others to develop and defend their worldview.
Stonestreet also serves as president of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview. The center trains and equips Christians to live and defend the Christian worldview. In his capacity as president of the organization, John directs conferences and curriculum projects, speaks to groups nationally and internationally, consults on worldview education for schools and churches, and appears frequently on web and radio broadcasts.
John is very involved in spreading his message through radio, and can be heard on several daily and weekly radio programs. These radio shows are also part of the Colson Center umbrella and strive to apply Christian worldview thinking to current events and key issues. John is co-host with Eric Metaxas of Breakpoint Radio, a Christian worldview radio program, airing daily on over 1,200 outlets. He is also co-host with Ed Stetzer of BreakPoint This Week, a half-hour weekend interview show, and on the Point, which is a daily national radio show that covers worldview and apologetics.
Prior to his involvement with Summit Ministries and the Colson Center, Stonestreet was on the faculty of Bryan College, where he developed a curriculum for Christian Worldview thinking. He also directed the Bryan College Worldview Team, which was designed to help students analyze and decode worldviews through popular culture.
John is the author of several books including: Restoring All Things: God’s Audacious Plan to Change the World through Ordinary People (with Warren Cole Smith); Same-Sex Marriage: A Thoughtful Approach to God’s Design for Marriage (with Sean McDowell); and Making Sense of Your World: A Biblical Worldview (with Gary Phillips and William E. Brown).
John and his wife Sarah and their three daughters live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
